Drinks

Ramune

Ramune is a carbonated beverage originally sold in Japan and widely known for its distinctive bottle design. The bottles are made of glass and sealed with a marble held in place by the pressure generated by the carbonation of the drink.

To open the bottle, a tool is provided to push the marble inward. The marble is pushed toward the neck of the bottle, where it makes a popping sound as you drink.

Sencha

Sen means infusion, Cha means tea.

It is a type of green tea most commonly produced in Japan. It is characterized by its fresh aroma and tannic flavor.

For a glass, use half a teaspoon of tea leaves; for a pot, use one heaping teaspoon. After adding hot water, wait half a minute. You can add hot water a maximum of two times. Adding hot water a third time will dilute the tea’s flavor.

Genmaicha

Genmai means brown rice, and Cha means tea.

This tea is made by adding roasted rice grains to Sencha tea. The aroma of the roasted grains is what gives it its flavor.

For a glass, use half a teaspoon of tea leaves; for a pitcher, use one heaping teaspoon. After adding hot water, wait half a minute. You can add more hot water, but keep in mind that it loses its flavor after the third time.

Asahi

Asahi Super Dry is a Japanese beer produced by Asahi Breweries Co., Ltd. of Tokyo. It was launched in the Japanese market in 1987 as the first dry beer.

The flavor is smooth, less bitter, and very dry. It has a light golden color, medium body, and a subtle malt aroma.

Kirin

Kirin is the most popular beer in all of Japan. It’s a bottom-fermented lager with a mild flavor. It’s a fresh, pale lager made with spring water, rice, barley malt, corn, hops, and yeast. It has a full body and is flavorful.

Sapporo

Sapporo is Japan’s oldest beer brand, and along with Asahi and Kirin, one of the most popular in the country.

It’s a light and refreshing golden lager with a malty aroma and a mild hoppy bitterness. It was launched in the Japanese market in 1977.

Ocha

It’s a refreshing and natural beverage, made with mild and authentic green tea. Because it’s sugar-free, it retains the tea’s pure character, with light vegetal notes and a clean finish. Ideal to pair with vento or traditional Japanese dishes, balancing the flavors without being overpowering.
